Florence Nightingale : her life and legacy (DVD)

Known as the founder of modern nursing and one of the most famous women in history, Florence Nightingale fought societal expectations to marry to instead become a nurse. When it was reported that British soldiers in the Crimea were being poorly cared for, Florence Nightingale recruited and equipped a group of nurses to help. She was known by the British soldiers in the Crimea as the “lady with the lamp” because of the late hours that she worked tending to the sick and wounded.

Using a combination of archive pictures and photographs, the 22 minute DVD
Florence Nightingale : her life and legacy shows viewers where Florence Nightingale lived and worked and documents her contribution to nursing and public health.

Florence Nightingale : her life and legacy can be found on the shelves at RT 84.5 .F59 2005
