Eats, shoots & leaves : the zero tolerance approach to punctuation / Lynne Truss

A self help book for the punctuation shy, Eats, shoots and leaves : the zero tolerance approach to punctuation provides a stickler's guide to using punctuation in writing. Although Truss openly blames what she calls "the erosion of language" on the influence of Americans, she goes on to say that "the disappearance of punctuation (including word spacing, capital letters, and so on) indicates an enormous shift in our attitude to the written word..."

The book is divided into seven chapters, each explaining the use of a different punctuation mark and each with stories and examples of appalling misuses of punctuation.

Eats, shoots and leaves can be found on the shelves at PE 1450 .T75 2004
