The time in between / David Bergen

When Vietnam veteran Charles Boatman disappears after returning to Vietnam thirty years after the war to try to come to terms with his killing of a young boy, his children travel to Vietnam in search of him.

Alternating narrators between Charles and his daughter, Ada, the book moves between past and present, between Vietnam and the Pacific Northwest, between father and daughter and between their similarities and differences.

The time in between is the 2005 Scotiabank Giller Prize winner.
